Our tutors are UC Berkeley students who went through college admissions only a few years ago. They know what it’s like to stare at a blank Personal Insight Question in October, and they bring that recent, first-hand perspective to students applying now.
The UC application
Most East Bay seniors apply to at least a few UC campuses. The UC application asks students to answer four of eight Personal Insight Questions in up to 350 words each, and applications are due between October 1 and November 30. Our tutors help students choose questions that show different sides of them, find specific stories and revise until every answer sounds like the student.
The Common App and supplements
For private colleges and out-of-state schools, we help with brainstorming and revising the Common App personal essay and each college’s supplemental essays, and with keeping a long list of deadlines under control.
The student’s voice, always
We don’t write essays or manage applications. We ask questions, give honest feedback and help students say what they mean, so the final essay is entirely theirs. Many families pair essay help with SAT or ACT prep earlier in junior year.
Sessions are one-on-one, at home or online. It’s never too early or too late to start. Tell us where your student is in the process.
