Every student prepares differently. We start with a practice test to see where your student stands, then build a one-on-one plan around the sections and question types that will move their score the most. Our tutors are Berkeley students who took these tests recently and know what actually helps.

The SAT

The SAT is fully digital and adaptive, with a Reading and Writing section and a Math section, each split into two parts, where the second part adjusts to how the student did on the first. Tutors help students master the content, pace themselves and get comfortable with the format before test day.

The ACT

The ACT got shorter in 2025, and its Science section is now optional. We help students decide which test suits them better, and whether the Science section is worth taking for the colleges on their list.

The PSAT

Junior-year PSAT scores are used for the National Merit Scholarship Program, so it’s worth preparing for, and the same work gives students a head start on the SAT.

Do scores matter for California families?

The University of California and Cal State don’t consider SAT or ACT scores right now, but many private colleges and out-of-state public universities do, and some require them again. The UC is also reviewing its policy, with a recommendation expected in 2027 that could affect students applying from fall 2028. We help each family think through whether testing makes sense for their student’s list.

Sessions are one-on-one, at home or online. Tell us about your student’s plans, and we’ll build a prep schedule around them.
