Moraga’s math path
Math placement in Moraga is settled in middle school. Joaquin Moraga Intermediate looks at performance tasks, a district test and classroom test scores, and Algebra 1 is the highest math course it offers. Eighth graders who finish it begin at Campolindo in Geometry Advanced, the route to AP Calculus BC. Our tutors work with students ahead of those assessments and through the first accelerated year, and they help students on the grade-level route reach Campolindo sure of their algebra.
Long classes, starting in middle school
Moraga students meet a high school schedule early. Joaquin Moraga has 80-minute classes two days a week, and Campolindo’s run 90 minutes. Homework is no longer due the next day in every class, and it has to be planned across the week. Our tutors help students learn to do that.
Moraga schools
In Moraga, our tutors work with students at Campolindo High School, Joaquin Moraga Intermediate and The Saklan School. Moraga families whose students travel to Carondelet, De La Salle or Bishop O’Dowd are welcome too. All three give the HSPT on Saturday, January 9, 2027, and we prepare 8th graders for it through the fall.
