Writing is the skill students use in almost every class, and the one that’s hardest to improve alone. A thesis that isn’t quite an argument, evidence that doesn’t connect, paragraphs that wander: these are easier to fix with someone sitting beside you asking good questions.
Reading closely, writing clearly
Our tutors help students understand what they’re reading, find something worth saying about it and organize it into a clear essay. We work on literary analysis, argument and research papers, grammar and style, and timed writing for in-class essays and the AP English exams.
Always the student’s own work
A tutor’s job is to teach, not to write. We ask questions, point out what’s working and what isn’t, and help students revise their own drafts, so the skills carry over to the next assignment.
The same approach carries into college essays. Sessions are one-on-one, at home or online.
