Our UC Berkeley tutors help Lafayette students build confidence in math, writing and their other subjects. We work with students preparing for Stanley’s accelerated math courses, adjusting to Acalanes’ long class periods or balancing AP classes with test prep and college applications.

Where Lafayette students need help
The biggest decisions often come early. At Stanley, 6th grade math decides who moves into the fast-paced Course 2/3A and, from there, Algebra 1 in 8th grade, which sets up Geometry Advanced at Acalanes and the road to AP Calculus BC. Stanley looks at the whole year of 6th grade math, so the fall is a good time to start. Once students reach Acalanes, the 90-minute classes, the Academy period for getting help from teachers and a full slate of AP courses ask for real organization. We help with the math itself and with the habits that make a demanding schedule work.
Lafayette schools
We tutor students from Acalanes High School, Stanley Middle School, St. Perpetua and Bentley’s upper school, as well as Lafayette families at Campolindo, Carondelet, De La Salle and The Seven Hills School in Walnut Creek. We also help elementary students at Burton Valley, Happy Valley, Lafayette Elementary and Springhill with reading, writing and math.
A tutor who fits your student
Someone on our team talks with you about your student, their classes and the kind of person they learn best from, then chooses a tutor for the subject and the personality. We check in with you after the first few sessions.
What Cardinal Tutors families say
