Cal High’s Social Justice Pathway lets students take humanities classes built around justice and community from 9th grade through 12th. Our UC Berkeley tutors work on the writing those classes ask for, and on math and science too.

We tutor Cal High students in everything from Accelerated Algebra 2 and Biology to AP Calculus BC and AP Chemistry, and help with AP English and the ACT.
From Accelerated Algebra 2 to AP Calculus
At Cal High, Accelerated Algebra 2 can lead straight to AP Calculus AB, without a year of precalculus in between. A tutor checks that a student’s trigonometry and functions are solid before calculus begins, then keeps the calculus moving at the pace a strong student wants. Learn more about our math tutoring.
Chemistry and biomedical science
Cal High students may take one lab science a year, such as Honors Chemistry or AP Chemistry, and can request an honors biomedical pathway course, such as Human Body Systems, in addition. AP English and Global Studies
Cal High offers AP English Language and AP English Literature, and the Social Justice Pathway combines English and world history in 10th grade in a class called Global Studies. Our tutors work with AP Language students on how a writer persuades and AP Literature students on close reading, and help Global Studies students write essays that use history and literature together.
