At Westview, a full course is finished in 18 weeks. Our tutors are UC San Diego students who help Westview students keep up with fast-moving classes and prepare for AP exams.
Tell us about your student, and we’ll match them with a UC San Diego tutor who fits.
We tutor math, science, English, history and languages, and help juniors and seniors with the SAT, ACT and college essays. Sessions are one-on-one, at your home in Torrey Highlands, Rancho Peñasquitos, 4S Ranch or Del Sur, or online.

Two terms, four classes
Westview splits the year into two 18-week terms. Students take three or four long classes each day, and most courses are over in a single term, though some linked courses run all year. Quizzes come quickly, finals arrive twice a year and a hard two weeks is a large part of the course. A weekly session helps students keep up: going over what the class covered, working through the homework and preparing for the next test. The schedule also means a course that ends in January has its AP exam in May, and our tutors plan review for the months in between.
AP, college courses and the Seal of Biliteracy
Westview offers AP classes, college courses and the chance to earn college credit while in high school. It also recognizes students who earn the State Seal of Biliteracy, an award for reaching a high level in a second language. We tutor AP math and science, AP English and history, and Spanish and other languages for students working toward the seal. Juniors and seniors fit SAT or ACT prep and college essays around their AP courses, and a tutor can help plan the year so that test dates and application deadlines don’t fall in finals week.

Starting 9th grade
Freshmen arrive from middle schools across Poway Unified, and some have taken the district’s faster middle school math courses. A tutor can help a new Westview student get used to the pace, where the first test of a term comes early, and fill any gaps from middle school math. Learn more about our San Diego math tutoring.
