Schools in Carmel Valley
We work with students at Torrey Pines High School, Canyon Crest Academy, Cathedral Catholic High School, Carmel Valley Middle School and Pacific Trails Middle School. Carmel Valley students attend Del Mar Union or Solana Beach elementary schools through 6th grade, then one of the two middle schools for 7th and 8th.
Torrey Pines or Canyon Crest
Torrey Pines is the neighborhood high school for Carmel Valley, as it is for Del Mar. In the winter of 8th grade, families can also request a place at Canyon Crest Academy or San Dieguito Academy, and the district holds a lottery when a school has more requests than seats. The choice changes a student’s week. Torrey Pines runs year-long classes that meet every other day. Canyon Crest fits a full course into half a year. Our tutors help students at both.
Where Carmel Valley students use a tutor
We help with honors math in 7th and 8th grade, honors Integrated Math in high school, AP Chemistry and AP Calculus, and English classes with a lot of essay writing. In San Dieguito, an honors math student needs an A or B to stay in honors, and our tutors help students keep that grade. For 8th graders applying to Cathedral Catholic, we also prepare for its placement test. Learn more about our San Diego math tutoring and our ISEE and SSAT prep.
What Cardinal Tutors families say
“My son had a wonderful experience with Cardinal Tutors when he needed help with his High School math and science classes. It turns out my son also needed help staying organized with all his assignments, something that the tutor helped with as well.”
