In 4S Ranch and Del Sur, students can take math at a faster pace in middle school, and Del Norte High closes grades three times a year. Our tutors are UC San Diego students who help students here with both.

We offer one-on-one tutoring in math, science, English and history, along with SAT and ACT prep and college essays. Our tutors come to your home in 4S Ranch or Del Sur, and online sessions are available too.
Del Norte, Oak Valley and Design 39
Del Norte High School divides its year into three terms of 60 school days, so a slow start shows up in grades quickly. Oak Valley Middle School is in 4S Ranch, and Design 39 Campus in Del Sur teaches kindergarten through 8th grade. Westview High School, in nearby Torrey Highlands, works differently: it has four long classes a day and finishes each course in half a year. Our tutors plan around whichever calendar your student has.
Math before and during middle school
Poway Unified lets middle schoolers cover two years of math in one, first 6th and 7th grade math together and then 7th and 8th. To get into the first of those courses, incoming 6th graders take a district placement test, which in recent years has been given in the summer before 6th grade. Our tutors help a 5th grader prepare for that test, and help Oak Valley and Design 39 students who are already in one of the faster courses. Learn more about our San Diego math tutoring.
