Millennium is Piedmont’s small high school, with classes of ten to twenty, project-based learning and a flexible schedule. About half its students come from outside Piedmont. Students meet the same graduation requirements as Piedmont High, and many take AP or advanced courses at PHS when there’s space.

That mix of independent projects and the occasional AP class next door is where a tutor can help. Our UC Berkeley tutors help Millennium students plan long projects, stay on top of self-directed work and keep pace in any PHS courses they add. Sessions are one-on-one, at your home in Piedmont or elsewhere in the East Bay, or online.
Self-directed projects
Much of the work at Millennium is self-directed: projects that run for weeks, small-group discussions and assignments that cross subjects. That suits a lot of students, and it also means a project can slip quietly until the week it’s due. A tutor helps your student break a project into steps, set a date for each one and get the work done, whether that is the reading, the outline or the math.
Adding a class at Piedmont High
A class at PHS comes with Piedmont High’s demanding grading standards, and students usually can’t switch out once they’re placed. Our tutors help Millennium students keep up from the first unit, in math, science, writing or languages. In senior year, we help with college essays and the UC application.
What Cardinal Tutors families say
“The long term tutor that we had for pre calc and for ACT tutoring was amazing. She was completely professional, organized, thorough and easy to work with.”
