Miramonte’s AP and honors classes can leave students with long evenings of homework. Our UC Berkeley tutors help your student work through difficult concepts, plan assignments and prepare for tests. Sessions focus on the questions they bring from class and the study habits that make the week more manageable.

What we help with
We tutor math from Algebra 1 and Geometry through AP Calculus, the Living Earth, chemistry, physics and AP sciences, English and history. Miramonte is also the only school in the district with Latin, through AP Vergil, and with AP World History for sophomores, and we tutor both. AP World comes a year before most AP courses, and its timed essays are a new kind of writing for a 10th grader. Our tutors help students practice them early.
Anchor Mondays, blocks and Academy
On Anchor Mondays every class meets for 45 minutes, and the rest of the week runs on 90-minute blocks. That schedule rewards students who plan ahead. Our tutors help students plan the week on Monday and use the Academy periods, when teachers are available for help, on Wednesday and Friday.
Junior and senior year
Seniors can work with us on college essays and the UC application, and juniors on SAT and ACT prep.
