Oak Valley is the middle school for 4S Ranch, and Poway Unified lets its students take math at a faster pace. Our tutors are UC San Diego students who help Oak Valley students with their classes and with the study skills they’ll carry into high school.

Faster math, and the test to get in
Poway Unified offers two faster math courses in middle school. Math 6/7 covers 6th grade math and half of 7th in one year, and Math 7/8 covers the rest of 7th and all of 8th. To enter Math 6/7, incoming 6th graders take a district placement test, which in recent years has been given over the summer before 6th grade. Our tutors help a 5th grader prepare for the test, and help Oak Valley students in the faster courses keep up. Learn more about our San Diego math tutoring.
Science Olympiad, MathCounts and robotics
Oak Valley has Science Olympiad, MathCounts and robotics teams. For a student who loves a challenge, a tutor can work through competition problems. For others, we focus on keeping classwork strong.

From Oak Valley to Del Norte
Del Norte High School divides its year into three terms, so grades close three times a year. An 8th grader who builds steady homework habits at Oak Valley has an easier start there.
