At Stanley, 6th grade math matters more than many families expect. How a student does in Course 1 decides whether they move on to Course 2 or into Course 2/3A, a fast-paced class that covers 7th-grade math and half of 8th. That leads to Course 3B/Algebra 1 in 8th grade and Geometry or Geometry Advanced as a freshman at Acalanes.

Students on the standard path get a foundation solid enough to move ahead later if they choose.
