Stone Valley Middle School Tutoring

Stone Valley is Alamo’s middle school, and its graduates go on to either Monte Vista or San Ramon Valley High depending on where they live. Its block days, with even periods on Wednesday and odd periods on Thursday, give students an early taste of the high school schedule.

Tell us about your student, and we’ll match them with a UC Berkeley tutor who fits.

Our UC Berkeley tutors help Stone Valley students with math at every level, along with English, science and history. Sessions are one-on-one, at your home in Alamo or online.

Block days

Monday and Tuesday are regular seven-period days. Each class then meets once in a long block on Wednesday or Thursday, with an Access period, a set time for extra help, on Wednesday and Friday. Homework assigned on Tuesday is due Wednesday in some classes and Thursday in others. A 6th grader coming from Alamo Elementary, Rancho Romero or Montair hasn’t had to keep track of that before, and our tutors help them learn how.

Math for either high school

Monte Vista and San Ramon Valley High follow the same district math sequence, so the preparation is the same wherever your student is headed. Our tutors help with the 5th grade placement test, with accelerated courses and with the district’s summer program. For students who love math competitions, we’re happy to work on Mathcounts problems too.

What Cardinal Tutors families say

“It was great to find a couple of really smart young women who helped not only with the subject matter, but became great role models.”
