Madison High School Tutoring

Madison High’s engineering pathway starts freshmen with Physics of Green Engineering, a hands-on class, so physics is where their science starts. Our tutors are UC San Diego students who took many of the same courses not long ago, from physics to precalculus.

Tell us about your student, and we’ll match them with a UC San Diego tutor who fits.

Physics in ninth grade

In Physics of Green Engineering, students build and test, so the ideas start from something they made with their own hands. The challenge is turning that into numbers: what the measurements mean, which ones matter and how to write up the result. A tutor sits with your student’s lab data and asks what each number says about the device they built. Learn more about our science tutoring.

Advanced Integrated Math

Madison’s Advanced Integrated Math III brings precalculus into the integrated course, on top of the regular algebra and geometry. Two kinds of material arrive at once, and it’s easy for a student to keep up with one and quietly lose the other. Each week, your student and a tutor look at the newest homework from both and decide which needs the hour. Learn more about our math tutoring.

“My son had a wonderful experience with Cardinal Tutors when he needed help with his High School math and science classes. It turns out my son also needed help staying organized with all his assignments, something that the tutor helped with as well.”

“Their response time is outstanding. Neil responded quickly to my tutoring request for my 15-year-old. Love knowing that I have access to these high-quality services for my children. And, we use them via Zoom since we live in Tennessee. I cannot say enough great things about this business:)”

Research essays in Honors English

Sophomores in Honors English work through the full writing process, including research essays with documented sources. Finding sources is easy now. Using them is harder: deciding what each one proves and where it belongs in the argument. Your student brings the sources they’ve found, and with a tutor they sort them by what each one actually supports, before the outline is written. Learn more about our English and writing tutoring.
