On Wednesdays and Thursdays, Foothill students have Access time, when each one chooses which teacher to go see. Our tutors are UC Berkeley students who took many of the same AP courses not long ago, and they meet with your student one-on-one every week.

We tutor Foothill students in everything from Earth and Space Science and Geometry to AP Physics C and AP Statistics, along with essays for Honors Junior English and AP U.S. History.
Honors Algebra 2
Foothill’s math department describes Honors Algebra 2 as a course for students with both a passion for learning and exceptional talent in mathematics, and it leads on to Honors Precalculus and AP Calculus. A tutor keeps a student like that challenged, with problems a notch above the assignment and time on each new idea until it clicks. Learn more about our math tutoring.
Choosing when to start science
Foothill doesn’t require science in 9th grade. Freshmen can take Biology, which the school recommends only for very strong math students, or Earth and Space Science, or wait until sophomore year. A UC Berkeley tutor works through the course with your student whenever science begins, from the reading and labs of Biology to the problem-solving in Chemistry and Physics. Honors English in 9th and 10th grade
In 9th and 10th grade, Foothill offers honors English alongside the regular course, with more reading and more demanding writing. A tutor reads alongside your student and works on essays draft by draft, so the writing keeps up with the reading. Learn more about our English and writing tutoring.
