In Medical Interventions Honors at Las Lomas, students design a prosthetic arm; the course is part of a biomedical science sequence no other school in the district offers. Our tutors are UC Berkeley students who know the biology, chemistry and math behind a course like that.
Tell us about your student, and we’ll match them with a UC Berkeley tutor who fits.
We tutor Las Lomas students from Algebra 1 and Living Earth through AP Calculus BC and AP Physics C, and help with AP English essays.
Algebra 2/Precalculus Honors
For students who move quickly in math, Las Lomas offers Algebra 2/Precalculus Honors, which covers the Algebra 2 Advanced material in more depth and adds polar coordinates, vectors and a first look at limits and derivatives. It prepares students for AP Calculus AB the following year. With that much new material, a tutor checks your student’s understanding at the end of each week, so questions get answered the week they come up. Learn more about our math tutoring.
Chemistry and the AP sciences
Every Las Lomas student takes Chemistry in the Earth System, and the AP sciences in junior and senior year build on it. A tutor helps your student write lab reports that explain what the data shows, along with the calculations behind them. Learn more about our science tutoring.
