Coronado High moves quickly. Classes run about 90 minutes, and some students take two math courses in a single year. Our tutors are UC San Diego students who help Coronado High students keep up, in math and in every other subject.
Tell us about your student, and we’ll match them with a UC San Diego tutor who fits.
We tutor math, chemistry, physics, biology, English, history and languages, and help juniors and seniors with the SAT, ACT and college essays. Sessions are one-on-one, at your home in Coronado or online.

Two math courses in one year
Coronado Unified lets some students take two math courses in one year, for example Integrated Math 1 and Integrated Math 2 in 9th grade. That can lead to AP Calculus AB and BC by 11th grade. It is a fast route, and each course starts where the last one ended only weeks before. A tutor can check that each unit is solid before the next one builds on it. The district also gives its own placement tests before honors courses, and our tutors help students prepare for those. Students who took honors math at Coronado Middle School arrive already on this route. Learn more about our San Diego math tutoring.
Four 90-minute classes a day
Coronado High has four periods of about 90 minutes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with shorter periods and a homeroom on Wednesdays. A 90-minute class covers a lot at once, and a student who falls behind for a week has a lot to make up. A weekly session keeps that from happening: going back over what each class covered, finishing the problems that didn’t make sense and getting ready for the next test.
Our high school tutors, in parents’ own words

Love knowing that I have access to these high-quality services for my children. And, we use them via Zoom since we live in Tennessee. I cannot say enough great things about this business:)”
CoSA, NJROTC and the career pathways
The Coronado School of the Arts is a school within the school, with arts classes that meet after the regular day. CoSA students get home late with homework still to do, so we arrange sessions around their schedule, at home in the evening or in a shorter online session. Coronado High also has NJROTC, robotics and career pathways in engineering, computer science and patient care. For those students we look for a UC San Diego engineering or biology major.
Tell us which math course your Coronado High student is in and which other classes they’d like help with, and we’ll find the right tutor.
