For Berkeley families, our tutors are neighbors. They study a few blocks from Berkeley High and live in the same neighborhoods your students walk through, from North Berkeley to the Elmwood. Many can be at your door after a short walk or a single BART stop.

From middle school to Berkeley High

Berkeley’s middle schools teach one math course for everyone, and the first big fork comes in spring of 8th grade, when students can take the placement test for Berkeley High’s Advanced Math sequence. At Berkeley High, freshmen share a common 9th grade before moving into one of five learning communities, including the IB program at Berkeley International High School. We help students build a strong foundation before that test, keep up once they’re in advanced or IB courses, and stay organized in a school of more than three thousand.

Berkeley schools

We tutor students from Berkeley High School and King, Willard and Longfellow middle schools, and Berkeley families at Saint Mary’s College High School, College Prep and Head-Royce.

Sessions are one-on-one, at home, nearby or online. Tell us about your student, and we’ll match them with the right tutor.
