Science classes ask students to do two hard things at once: understand new ideas and use math to work with them. When a student struggles in chemistry or physics, it’s often the second part that trips them up, and a tutor who can see that is worth a lot.

Biology, chemistry and physics

We tutor middle school science, biology, chemistry and physics, including honors courses and AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics 1, 2 and C, and AP Environmental Science. Our tutors are Berkeley students in the life sciences, chemistry, physics and engineering who took these same courses a few years ago and still remember which ideas felt hardest.

Labs, tests and the AP exam

Tutors help with homework and lab reports, get students ready for unit tests and finals, and build a review plan for the AP exams in May. For students who are strong in science but losing points on tests, we work on how they study and how they show their work.

Science tutoring often pairs well with math tutoring. Tell us about your student’s class, and we’ll match them with a tutor who knows it well.
